SUBJECT: Annual Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Seminar

It is with great pleasure that we announce our 33rd Annual Equal Employment Opportunity Seminar and Awards Program. This seminar is hosted by the Dayton Intergovernmental Equal Employment Opportunity Council (DIEEOC) and will be held at the Hope Hotel & Conference Center, Wright-Patterson AFB Oh, on Thursday, April 24, 2008. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the seminar will end at 4:30 p.m.

This year's theme is "Workforce Shaping: Maximizing Resources Through Effective Leadership." The seminar will provide attendees with tools to help them understand the importance of leadership education in today's changing marketplace. We are excited about this seminar and hope that you will plan for your managers, supervisors and employees to attend.

The seminar day will include an awards luncheon. The following awards will be presented: the John E. Moore Community Service Award; the James W. Cisco EEO Award; the Diversity Achievement Award, the Harold "Buz" Kinzig - Youth Services Award, and the Charles Crawford, Jr., Manager of the Year Award. The criteria for these awards are at attachment 1. Nominations must be submitted by April 10, 2008. Nominations received after April 10, 2008 will not be considered.

DIEEOC will cover the cost of meals for all nominees. Nominators and invited guests must purchase luncheon tickets in advance, unless they are also seminar participants.

The registration fee, which includes lunch, is $100.00 per person. For details and registration information, please see the attached registration form.

The registration form (Attachment 2) should be submitted NO LATER THAN APRIL17 2008, to Ms. Barbara J. T. Newell, P.O. Box 3337, Dayton, Ohio 45401-3337. Attendees may pay for the seminar via submission of an approved DD Form 1556, a check made payable to DIEEOC or Master Card/Visa/Discover. Space is limited; therefore, early registration is recommended.
